Jerry & Jody Manwaring Bio
In 1988 Jerry and Jody Manwaring received their missionary call during a life-changing work team experience in Fortaleza, Brazil. They were appointed as Global Partners' missionaries in 1993. They served in Haiti (1993-1997) developing Theological Education by Extension and then in Zambia (1997-2003) as business manager and acting missions director, as well as coordinating and hosting work teams. In 2003 they accepted the invitation to join the Africa area missionary team headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa. "Wherever we are we want to live in such a way as to live out our life verse 'shining like stars in the universe' as we 'hold out the word of life'" (Philippians 2:15b-16a NIV).Jerry serves as Africa area administrator, working closely with the area director. He is also the Central Africa regional director, providing missionary leadership to Zambia, Cameroon, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. Jody is responsible for communications with supporting churches, prayer partners, and monthly e-mail prayer letters.
Jerry has a master's in management and has studied for the ministry through classes at Indiana Wesleyan University. Jody earned her bachelor's degree in theology from Hebron Theological College, SA. They have both taken FLAME and Equipping for Ministry ordination courses.
