Pastor Bern Lytle
Pastor Bern Lytle and his wife, Kathy, first came to Big Flats Wesleyan Church in 1973. He is a graduate of Houghton College, and Asbury Theological Seminary. He served here 13 years, until in 1986 they were called away to plant a church in Indianapolis, IN. After 7 years in Indiana, God directed them back here to our church where he became senior pastor again in 1993. In all, Bern has 39 years of pastoral experience, with 31 of those years as pastor here at BFWC!
Bern is one of the servant leaders among pastors in the Elmira-Corning area working to bring about Biblical unity and cooperation among the churches through a coalition of churches called The Churches of the Twin Tiers. (www.cottt.com)
He and his wife, Kathy, have have been happily married for 43 years. Kathy is active in BFWC as a volunteer and a servant leader. She is also a substitute teacher at Big Flats Elementary School next door to the church. Together they have 2 grown children who are married and have blessed them with 4 grandchildren!
